Paintlet is just one file (Paintlet.jar). Download it to your
computer and run it. You probably already have the Java Plugin, but you
can check at this link ... GotJava?
Paintlet.jar can be downloaded to any folder on your computer, but the Desktop (Windows) is a convenient spot. It's usually the default location for downloading files. |
| Do Not open the file! You only want to save it. Windows may indicate that Paintlet.jar is a zip file, but do not try to unzip it. Paintlet.jar is an executable file, just like an *.exe file. |
| When Paintlet.jar is saved to the Desktop, a shortcut icon is created. Paintlet can be run by clicking on the icon. |

Three folders may be created. PaintletScript files are saved to ptScript.
When downloading script files from paintlet.com, save them here.
Paintlet will move files to the ptArchive or ptTrash folders with the FileViewer. Files moved to these folders can be deleted or managed with Windows (or other operating system) file management tools. |

| If you have the superior Netscape browser ... |
| ... save Paintlet.jar to disk (the Desktop). |
| Pass Codes: when Paintlet is first run, you will be prompted to enter a pass code. The pass code is free and will completely unlock Paintlet for 30 days. |
When that 30-day pass code expires, you will be prompted for another pass code. Visit paintlet.com for another pass code. Return for additional pass codes as often as you wish. |
